Re: Visit to Genoa
Visited Genoa in summer 1974 on Christoffer Oldendorff with grain from Videla's Argentina. One day beore arrival the silo exploded and the discharge took more than 10 weeks. I remember a British/Dutch seaman's mission, at that time run by the church of Scotland, where we often took our refuge together with some UK girls who cam to Genoa after a dissapointing experience as aupair in Swizerland. We learned dancing the Scottish reels on Jimmy Shand's music and of course a lot more...
Luckily I had ample time to discover this great place with its rich history, suprising funiculars, railways, cemetaries and bustling port.
Of the many passenger liners calling Genoa, those of Linea Adriatica caught my special attention.
Last year I decided to have some models built of the Esperia, followed this year by the Victoria/Anastasis.
