'Boaty McBoatface' is making its maiden voyage, on a research expedition in waters below Antarctica. The submersible was christened after Sir David Attenborough despite a public vote on the name.

The stern section of the Sir David Attenborough left the A & P Yard in Hebburn, where it was built, on a barge, bound for Camel Lairds in Liverpool.

Did Boaty McBoatface teach them nothing? Council asks for names for its two new road gritters and the public answers with... Gritsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Yellow Anti-Slip Machiney and David Plowie.

Hi John.
I was up in Bromborough last weekend and saw
the Sir David Attenborough on the slip at the
Camel Laird yard,long way to go to the finish
but she already looks impressive.
