Re: Fires
Agree with you about the animals Brian, must have been distressing for the owners of the
Tea Tree Gully Boarding Kennels and Cattery, over forty animals lost their lives, this shows
some that were saved, the firemen there did a great job.

Re: Fires
Hi Bev
I am sure that by the time you come here the Fires will have been well under control, well lets hope so !
A pity that you are going to Melbourne only (or am I incorrect) Sydney is a lovely place to visit as well, have you been here before!? On a visit that is!
The lovely Blue Mountains where we live has some spectacular views and places to see,you should try and make you way here too for a day or two!
Anyway hope that you have a great time whilst over in Aussie, enjoy and just relax!
Cheers

Enjoy your trip Bev and welcome to your visit to Australia. A nice Summer sojourn and back to 'Ides of March' leading through to 'The Darling Buds of May' in lovely Somerset.

Re: Fires
Hi Bev.
Enjoy your trip to this great country, the fires in South Australia are now contained, some burning in Victoria but so far not a problem. Temps around the middle 30s raising to 40s in the coming weeks
Cheers Des

Re: Fires
At this date and time 1445 are just having our close one here. Must be about a mile away at most. Helicopters and low flying fixed wing aircraft (water bombers ) woke me from my afternoon siesta. Although the area where fire seems to be was all cleared out of bush sometime ago and has building in progress. Last year another fire close by helicopters were refilling from a fresh water lake across the road from me, which I objected too as there is plenty of sea water available 400 metres away, someone must have objected also as they are now refilling from the Indian Ocean, don't think somehow they will deplete that. Think all the racket going on now will have to stay awake. Cheers JS
