In my opinion there is something different in an MN man to the average man in the street.
Maybe because we worked in an industry where long spells at sea were condusive to creating lasting friendships. Or maybe becasue we all had to work as one no matter the department for the whole ship to work. But i have met a few ex MN at times and found them all to be amongst the friendliest people I have ever met.
As for our Vernon, it was he who obtained my services medals for me without me even asking, he is one of a kind.
