Well i am back after a very nice few days at my eldest sons house in Arrowtown a very lovely place .
We had a mini family reunion but i am afraid i cannot keep up with these young people for partying. We all went away into the mountain area the my son knows very well having spent all of his working life for the Dept of Conservation and he took us to this valley and the scenery was really beautiful with Snow on the mountains and plenty of wild life deer, pigs ,goats ,rabbits and even peacocks .
They shot three deer that will be butcher later on after few days hanging in a shed there will be plenty of venison steaks later very nice indeed .
So a good time had by all

Some disturbing information gained yeaterday which may well effect Lou along with many others.
For many years now myself, Lou and others have indulged in G&T, the tonic having Qunine included made it suitable for reducing the effecst of mosquito bites. Quinine id given to patienst with Malaria so drinking G&T reduced the risk of contracting this disease.
I was relaibly informed yesterday that Quinine is no long used in tonic water!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No matter, in the 1800's Gin was considered to be a medicine so I wll continue taking the medication.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Just a little aside for all the G and T drinkers.
Ice cold Gordons and Schweppes with a twist of lemon is one of my favourites, but
On the Beaverfir we regularly used to have half a tween deck full of Plymouth gin, is there a difference between Plymouth Gin and London Gin? . We would also have cases of a very popular Scotch whiskey there as well, think it was White and Mackay, bound for Montreal and Toronto.
Homeward bound we would have cases of Seagrams whiskey
