It was this time when things was in a state of excitement knowing that our pow days was over no more working parties no more bloody Japs and Koreans to give us some hurry up .
We was still on edge as they told us that there were still a bit sure what was really happening till planes flew over and dropped leaflets telling us to stay calm help was on its way We was still six in a cell and the talk was not sex but what is the first feed you are going to have .I can tell you some of the things was very funny .
Tommy Davies and George Doyle said its a pan of scouse ,a couple of us said its fish and chips .We talked for hours .
But there were still guys dying and some were in a very bad way .
I think when the our Medical people arrived i think they were a bit shocked but the soon got things moving one of the things they did was to delouse us as we lice and other things got done .
Then the troops arrived and the navy (i have mentioned this before . So my mates and i was very happy chappies

Lou, I have great respect for you and all who suffered at the hands of the Japs. How you managed to survive is intself a miracle, we must never let the world forget the attrocities of that time.

Not all Brian, there are a few who are worthy, but you have to look hard to find them.

You are right Brian, but somehow I get the impression that some of the worlds politicians like war. I see Obama is sending a strike fores to Iraq again, must be a build up of unused ammunition in USA.

With age comes experience with experience comes knowledge. Some of the politicians unfortuanetly have never been in a proper job, so their experience of life is nil, which leaves them with no knowledge of the ways of the world. Most are profesional politicians, good orators and able to answer quesions with the help of a team of advisers to assist so they dont make the obvious embarrasing answers so as to affect their party, opposition is never or very rarely in agreement of any answer to a solution that those in power may make. They are like a bunch of kids playing a game, unfortuanetly what mistakes and ill advised action they take, affect other people the grown ups, they lose nothing, apart from a few unkind words such as this, which they would like dearly to be able to have control over. They apparently are a necessary evil which we have to have, so the best thing is for people to use whatever tool they have to affect their decisions, which in a lot of cases is their feet, to get to the polling booths and make their decisions and their own futures more in keeping with the way they want to lead their lives. I reckon with the country's biggest business enterprise, it's proper management should be put out to tender. The down side of which is who would be capable to fairly manage a panel to choose the most worthy tender,

Richard your words are so true. the nation should be run as a business for thta is basicaly what it is. Sadly democracy, what a wonderful name, does not allow that to occur. we have free speech but be careful how you use it big brother is watching. But if the nation was to be run as BHP or CBA there would be fewer bludgers more doing their bit and possibly less intervention in the affairs of other nations.
