Re: Rugby and Soccer
If the present display by all Sides is anything to go by .then Soccer is no more.
FIFA must Stand for Fouling,Ineptness,(ie.Referees) Falling and A .for Acting.
One doesn't have to go past today's (game)Greece v Ivory Coast. The Penalty awarded to them (Greece )in the last minute .The player awarded it,actually tripped Himself over. R.A.D .A Would have been proud of Him
The opening Match I looked at ,Featured Greece Too. That more resembled Kick -Boxing than Football. One of the Team,Aimed directly to an opponents Head, early in the start. Ballet ?Just try and watch replays ,if you think not.Doubt if there were many Matches .without other Major infringements.
Tugging at Shirts, blatantly grabbing an opponents arm with both hands, coupled with others punching or pushing in the Back etc. Now a new one added Biting . Had these offences occurred in the days before this silly Substitute introduction There wouldn't be any Teams left on the Pitch. So in effect, this World Final, will be a Hollow Victory. in more than one sense ,of the expression.
Perhaps the only answer is to return to the Status Quo. No Subsitutes.
Alternatively strap their hands to their sides. Apologies to any Greek fans.No better ,or hardly any worse, than any of the other participants, in the long run.

Apparently some guy won a lot of money on a bet that at some time during the cup he would bite someone. Don't they feed the players when they play in EPL????????????????

Re: Rugby and Soccer
Playing against Scotland brings to mind something from last weekend. In a country town, Ballarat central Victoria, there was a competition for men in skirts playing heathen noise. Scottish intercolegate competition. There was a guy about 7 foot tall and as black as. For a joke I asked him which part of |Scotland he came from. Imagine my shock when he said Glasgow, he is a Scottish music teacher at one of the colleges.
I teach them when to suck and when to blow. lI just hop he has his teeth in wen he says that.

Re: Rugby and Soccer
Hi Lou.
I was up the club the other day and on the TV was a soccer match with Swansea my home town playing, I used to go to the vetch field to watch them as a kid, obviously I knew none of the players, and as nearly ninety % of them were black I don't think I'd have wanted to.
Vernon.
I haven't seen that match with Wales vs South Africa, but it must have been a bottler, one thing when Wales were beaten if it was a good game to watch both sides got a great reception from the Welsh crowds.
Cheers Des

Re: Rugby and Soccer
Australia playing NZ in cricket world cup in Dunedin Saturday. There was a mention of 'under arm bowling' way back in 1981. The Kiwis have very long memories.

Re: Rugby and Soccer
How come that we in Canada can get cricket from Oz on TV but not the 6 Nations.
We do have rugby here, but I have never heard of a cricket match.
Maybe the interest was caused by our friends from the far east.
And I don't mean Quebec!
