The Good Old Days
On the Empire Austen in 1946 we was under charter to the UNNRA (i think thats what they called it)we had Bulk and bagged wheat for Greece and a couple of islands in the Agean sea .Having a look at my pay off slipi hardly had any subs because the locals wanted other things than money if i remember the money was about 40000 drachmas to the english pound but it was soap,sweets , chocolate and clothesyou could get booze ,and female company it was one of the greatest places in them days no tourist and the people was very friendly
