I must echo what Brian said, " Wish they could stay like that for ever ". I so wish that too. I am very fortunate to have four fantastic grandchildren, three girls and one boy. I love them dearly and I watch them grow and experience the nastiness that life throws at them. Failed friendships, were they cannot understand why their once best friend now has another best friend and bullying which they cannot understand and neither can I.
It hurts me and I want to protect them and fight for them but I realise that some things they have to sort for themselves, otherwise they wont become wise. Its very hard but its life, and all I can hope to do is guide them from my experiences and hope that the advice I give, is the right advice.
Chris.
