A couple of years ago I was in Singapore , and my late father was one of the first marines ashore at Changi after the Japanese surrender . I went to look at the museum and give some silent thanks at the chapel there . ( the old man drove a petrol tanker off the landing craft , and if there had been hostilities it was not the best thing to have been driving ) . I found that place touched in a very small way on the horrors that man inflicted on man , and I would make reminders like that museum compulsary in education , so today's kids know what evil actually looks like , and then they may think twice about inflicting it in the future
