Default Former Mersey Ferrry, MV Egremont about to be broken up?

I noticed news about this vessel and sought more information and my search brought me to a thread in Merchant Navy Net Forums - so I joined & posted a comment in that other forum which was about the name Egremont rather than the vessel.

Anyway here is a link to that Tweet

And to that other thread post - where there is a little extra information - I suspect were there active interest the vessel would have been saved by now.

Thanks for allowing me to join and for such an archive of information

Travelled on her many many times as boy and man during her time as a Mersey Ferry. Sturdy little vessel bad weather and stormy batterings never bothered her. She had an identical sister the Leasowe which ended up out in the Greek Isles. Unfortunately for Egremont whilst she was laid up awaiting sale, she had a bad leak in the Engine Room which badly damaged her engines, which had to be removed. She was bought as a stationary use vessel ( a floating Yacht Clubhouse in Salcombe ) rather than a ferry, which I think probably lengthened her life. Very sad to see her as she is now and looking at being broken up. She holds happy memories for me as does her Liverpool friend the ex Mersey Bar Lightship, ' Planet ' also in Sharpness and as we are led to believe, facing a similar fate and date with the torch.
