Was he working for BP or BTC as it would have been then. Know today they have a big Refinery there. The only pilot I ever spoke to personally on the Firth of Forth was the Leith pilot and that was in the eighties. He informed me that a person I was looking for info. On a Captain McLoughlin , who wrote novels by this time had moved back up to the Leith area and lived on the other side of the river. He would of been of your fathers era, and was well known in Salvessons when working on their whale factory ships. A bit late today to ask him unless he is in the Guinness book of records as would be well over an estimated 110 years of age. All the best on your enquiries however you never know. Regards JS
