    Default KENNETH JOYNSON - 1940s

Dear All. I wonder if anyone remembers a steward called JOYNSON who worked on the Cunard and Furness Lines. Possibly worked
others but we've only just found out he was on the high seas at all. The period would be 1945 to the early 1950s. No Pouch or CRS10
details I'm afraid. He is my wife's Father who died when she was just 2. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
    Thank You, John O'Grady

Doc, thanks very much. I did post a hello, CORRECTION, I thought I had posted an hello a few weeks back, but I must have pressed the wrong button at the wrong time...story of my life! Apologies. To add a little more to the information, Kenneth was born in West Derby and we've been able to trace the family tree etc, but we had no idea he was in the Merchant Navy until a chance observation on one of the old pictures my wife has from the early 50s. I see below that you have identified him anyway and we are so excited. With regard to the R number at the start, what does that relate to please? I also see that you reside in the Blue Mountains in Australia, sounds beautiful.

Thanks Ron, glad to be here. Finding out that my children's grandfather sailed the 7 seas (well a couple of them at least) during the golden era has been an amazing revelation, and I see from the many posts I've read that you guys cherish the memories. I home your batcomputer is tuned to the same batchannel all the time!

Afternoon Jim, thanks very much, yep that's where Kenneth was born, in West Derby back in 1923. We found an old picture from the early 1900s which was a grocer store on Westminster Road going by the name of S A Joynson. I think that was his Grandmother.
