    Default my father

    hello,
    im trying to find out about my fathers service during world war two.
    i believe he was an engineer with the blue star line?
    from family we have been told that he was torpedoed and missing for four days and picked up on the fifth day.
    his name Charles law mckernan.
    i know this is a long shot but !

    Hi Charles,

    Could you provide any further information ?

    Date of birth, place of birth etc.

    Have you any of his seafaring documents, serial numbers etc ?

    Quite a few on site will possibly try to assist but,
    require as much information as possible for best results

    I find two registered that could be him?
    One Born Hull 1925
    One Born Glasgow 1920

    Any of them??

    thanks for the replies!
    i have got his continuous certificate of discharge.
    d o b 12/05/1918 and i believe he was born in Belfast.
    in this book their are three ships named all the wellington star.
    1 foreign 2 coast 3 foreign.last stamp was 05/07/1940.

    OK Charles ,so now as you have his Discharge Book,with Ship Name what now exactly do we want (Look For) please.
    As his Book should have Record of Ports Visited etc. Is there something specific we should now be looking at ?
    Just Questions to try and assist! What is the Discharge Number in the Book please!
