Hi.
My name I Norman Smith and am trying to find out anything I can about an uncle of mine, Bertie Willbye who was born in Cambridgeshire in 1924 and I was told was in the Merchant Navy during the war but I cannot find anything about him in Ancestry or FMP being in any of the forces, the only thing was that he married my aunt in around 1947 and that he worked in an electro plating factory in South Tottenham after the war.
Thank you for reading this.
Norman Smith.

Norman the real sleuths if see your search will probably answer. If you have your Uncles marriage licence that will have his occupation for a start on , and may prove useful for anyone to start with. JWS.

Hi.
Thanks for the reply.
He was married on the 21st Dec 1946 and was a Nickel Plater and worked with my father, he married Cynthia Smith.
I have all his birth records, it is his war records that I cannot find.
Norman

Re: New member
Hi Vernon.
Sorry I seem to have worded my request wrong. It is his war record that I cannot find anything about. He worked with my father as a Nickel Plater in South London after the war, would think that was how he met my Aunt
I do have his Birth and Marriage records, he married my Aunt, Cynthia Smith on the 21st Dec 1946 and yes his mother was a Shailes, district Wisbech.
Thank you for your time.
Norman.
