Post Capetown Castle 1946 Passenger List ~ homeward India via Mombasa

Grateful for assistance finding this passenger list.
Understand in 1946 the vessel may not yet have been decommissioned as a troop ship.
Possibly left Bombay with soldiers on board; picked up also civilians in Mombasa; dropped off Italian POWs in Naples; and, maybe docked in Southampton.

Passenger lists incoming to the UK are held at Kew in piece BT 26 and also available via pay site Ancestry.
There are passenger lists for CAPETOWN CASTLE for 1946 but there are more than one. Can you give the approx date please? However, if you are looking for the names of troops you may be disappointed.

Capetown Castle was decommissioned on the 29th July 1946 and was sent immediately to H&W for a refit.
    1947 January returned to service.

Given the information supplied the only two passenger lists that I would check would be :-

This one has Bombay to Southampton 1946

    BT 26/1219/268

This one has Bombay and Naples to Southampton 1946

    BT 26/1220/70

They are available at Kew or via the paysite Ancestry. if you can give a name maybe this will help Marian with a look-up but as I said earlier if it is for military personnel, unless it was a small party, then unlikely to be named.

Interesting to note that there is only one sitting in the tourist gallop for all main meals. Either she hada large dining saloon or number of bloods was low. In latter years there would always be two sittings tourist/cabin class on all UCL liners.
    Happy daze John in Oz.
