    Default Hearing Problems?

Doctors in South Korea have found that people who eat chocolate in the age group 40-64 discovered the hearing loss was much lower than abstainers.
Nutrients in chocolate are polyphenols are strong antioxidants and anti-inflammatory properties which may protect against hearing damage..

After years at sea abusing my body with alcohol and tobacco I now live as healthy lifestyle as possible. I only eat meat very occasionally , never eat processed food , eat lots of fruit and long ago stopped smoking and drinking.
The problem is the conflicting advice given by health experts and nutritionists. One day you will read , do not eat red meat and avoid dairy products , bad for the heart and will rise your cholesterol levels. Another expert will write , red meat provides the iron your body needs to prevent anaemia and dairy products are good for strong bones , teeth and skin. The differing advice is the same for nearly all foods. The solution is follow your instincts , you know your own body better than the experts.
If the people of South Korea listen to their doctors they may end up with fantastic hearing but also join the Western world with huge bellies and bottoms suffering from diabetes.

Before the War we couldnt afford chocolate and during the War it was rationed not just by coupons in the Ration Book but also by money. so had very little chocolate at all if any.
So now I know why I am going deaf and had to go to Spec Savers to get my free hearing aids.
Thanks for the info, Vic, I guess it is a little late now to start eating chocolate.

You are very right, most of the things that are bad for you supposedly, have to be consumed in huge amounts to have any effect.
My motto is, everything in moderation, as you need a little of something from everything to have a balanced diet.
I never smoked but my lungs are ------ due to other reasons, it really winds me up when I see people deliberately abusing theirs

Well my Hearing is also now not good at all,but the one especially I(Left) is now almost totally deaf, this is due to the loud Drilling Machinery when I was on the Gold Mines in South Africa, constant 8 hour a day drilling did the damage and is irreversible no matter how much Chocs I eat LOL
A lot was also due to the fact I feel the Going down and coming up the Shafts at a very fast rate,it is amazing just how fast those things operate, and going down to some nearly 17000 feet was something else! Wow!

The right one is also quite bad and I have real difficulty in Hearing Conversations (even with these Ear Horns ) now over the Phone, and when there are a few People talking at the same time, thank goodness I stay away from those nowdays!

So time has taken its toll on the poor Ears ,as well as the Eyes now too. Damn!! LOL

The latest down here in Aus is that eating eggs improves your eyesight, well I wear glasses; but sailed on many B.T.C tankers where eggs were on every breakfast time, we also eat a lot of eggs these days, they are a cheap meal, must be a drop in egg sales.

Moderation in all things, well almost.
But I have changed my diet somewhat, reduced meat intake, more fish, fruit and vegetables.
Only use Olive oil, extra virgin best but yet to find any in the bottles, cut out sugar as in biscuits and cake, do not drink milk.
Havre not used milk apart from in cooking since 1962, no salt apart from in cooking, no butter, but plenty of cheese.
My hearing is fine, but do suffer from selective hearing at times.
    Happy daze John in Oz.
