Re: Knights Templars
Plenty of Robin Baskits still around otherwise how are people getting poorer never mind how hard they work, is it Poland they want people to work 600 hours overtime for no pay. bit like a deck boy in the old days.

It's the rich what gets the picking and the poor who get the blame,
It's the same the whole world over, oh what a bloody shame!

Re # 126.
I enjoyed reading through your Armadale Lodge topic JWS.
Was impressed how members took it in their stride at helping out with refurbishment and maintenance of premises.
I also noticed Lodge reunions and dinner evenings were well attended, a healthy sign as far as membership is concerned.
Apart from Armadale being a well known Scottish name and easier to pronounce, I think it was a good idea to change the name from the original.
The townsite of Armadale in Western Australia was Gazetted in 1909.

Fouro.

Re: Knights Templars
It was my first stopping off place on arrival out here Fouro. I had a sister who put us up until we found our feet. We arrived here practically broke, but won’t bore you with the details. Others have given their own views how they came to leave the industry through lack of work. Coming out here enabled me to continue to 65 and further if I had desired, also at very much enhanced conditions, so have no regrets. Armadale had a population of not much over 20,000 in 1991,so by WA law was classed as a city, although not much bigger than a good sized village in The UK.
9 years later I was able to buy a piece of land and build my own house on the coast 400 metres from a 5 mile long sandy beach. Something would never have even able to do in the UK. People out here take their living standards for granted , myself just have to make trips back to the uk to be very appreciative of Australia. Think I”ll stay here.
Cheers JWS.

Re: Knights Templars
My brothers grandson got into making computer games here in the UK his mate who he worked with went to oz and got fixed up in that game. The grandson went to oz and whilst looking for a job in making computer games he got a job waiting on.A man he was waiting on asked him what he was up to when he told him it so happened that's what business the man was in and was looking for somebody to take on,he fell on his feet and got a start. He hasn't been there 12 months yet the other day he was at a bus stop when a bus pulled up and low and behold it had some of his art work on the side.So still opportunities in oz.
Regards.

Re: Knights Templars
For those willing to 'have a go' there are ample opportunities here in Oz, just be willing to work and it will all happen for you.
Been here lose to 40 years now, built three houses and travelled all over.
Circumstances were such that we are able to enjoy life far better then we ever could have had we stayed in UK.
Been back a few times and what I saw disappointed, and to some extent, frightened me.
What has happened to some parts is beyond comprehension.
Pension is better here anyway.

Re: Knights Templars
For those who have been out here much longer than me, and not been back for many years, I think would also be very disappointed in what they see today. This unification with Europe most can’t understand why a. Country like Great Britain should give its sovereignty away to former enemies that took the lives of so many of family and friends.most will have no intention of wishing to come under the questionable rule of Europe and will go for becoming a republic and coming out of the commonwealth. My views only and would be the way or path I would take. JS

Re: Knights Templars
I always find it quite a point of interest that wherever there's a plot or a novel or suppose world dominance it is always the Masons that become cited you never here a word about the buffalos all the moose or particular knights of St columba I wonder if there's a plot

Re: Knights Templars
Catholics are welcome to join Masonic Lodges if they wish, but the Catholic church is strictly against them doing so.
The Knights of St Columba Lodges are again strictly catholic, which in my opinion, is a way of breeding Sectarianism.
