    Default Cynical BBC

The BBC on it's news programmes criticises companies which avoid paying their full taxes etc and also takes store in telling us that NHS is under funded.
BBC encouraged staff to are up companies, which would reduce the amount of tax that the staff paid. HMRC is now chasing staff for back taxes which in some cases amounts to hundreds of thousands of pounds.
The BBC by encouraging staff to take this route also avoided paying NHS contributions, cynical or not?

Not paying tax by avoidance is not a crime, evasion is.

Many of the very big companies here, as is no doubt the case in UK, have some of the smartest accountants ever, they know ways the tax man has not event thought to avoid tax.

Your BBC sounds much like our ABC.

You change the channels as many times as you like, but you still pay for the BBC.

I have tried changing channels but can't find where the rebate button is off the licence feeThe BBC has published the latest list of its highest-paid stars later as part of its annual report.

Some stars have had pay increases, while others have dropped down the list - although in many cases, such as with Claudia Winkleman, this is a result of some programmes being produced by BBC Studios, which is now considered a commercial entity and so no longer counted.

No idea what ours get paid here in Oz but the CEO got the DCM the other week and is suing the ABC for unlawful dismissal even though there was a section in her contract to cover that.

But we have a morning radio personality, Monday to Friday 0530 to 0830 on over $1 million per year.
