    Default EU mps

Just watched the quiz show pointless, matters not if you watch said show, but one question on there was to name EU British MPs, almost no one knew who their EU MP was, so it follows that few of know what he says, what he stands for, who he reports to etc, and I am one of those. One hell of a bloody useless, expensive system. He flies out to Brussels every Monday, nice hotel, flies home every Friday, crazy, crazy. Kt

Not alot of difference to MP's who go off on overseas trips in the guise of 'parliamenatry business' Just what sort of business do they get up to?

We went to the Caribbean 3 years ago. Lots of islands, including Martinique. French. EU signs everywhere advertising their latest project. The roads were in pristine condition ~ courtesy of our money. We came back to Cheshire full of pot holes........

Just looking at overseas territories (EU Countries) they are members of the EU so I suppose European money can be spent in the overseas territories. How can all these Islands etc be part of the EU.The currency in Martinique is the Euro.

Tenerife is part of Spain and Euro is the currency, however if you purchase cigarettes in Tenerife and pay the shop tax, you are still only allowed 200/250 cigarettes per person as if you were coming from outside the EU, the same restrictions apply to spirits, doesn't bother me as don't smoke and booze is cheap enough here so don't see any point in lugging it around. However you can bring as much as you like from mainland Spain as long as you can prove it's for personal use, why the anomaly ?

OK let them use the euro but I don't agree to European money being spent on the infrastructure or other projects if they need assistance let the mother country pay for it with their own money.
