No thanks Jim, saw that on the web the other day.
If I was ever to take a cruise it would have to be in warm waters where I could lounge on deck sipping Pina Colado's or cold beer, not freezing your knackers off in ice laden waters. Saw enough of the bloody stuff running up to Montreal in winter on Beaver and box boats.

I would like to do it just for the hell of it, But you cannot beat being sat in the sun in the South Pacific with a large Rum and Coke watching nubile young bikini clad young ladies leaping in and out of the swim Pool and wishing I was 18 again.

Could be interesting. Not sure if any of you have been in the region of Sweden in winter but the countryside then is stunning. Snow all over the place gives a real feeling of peace and well being, worth a look at.

Sailing to the Antarctic was quite fascinating, Ice bergs, ice covered mountains and landing in various places there was really good , even tho` we were called at 5 am just to get the gear on, took an hour to get dressed as the temperature with a wind chill factor was down to 70* at times.
I would certainly go there again.

The Antarctic is a very beautiful Place Cappy,
and to sit with the penguins is really an experience,
Sit down and eye ball to each other, If the Penguin fancies you he will place a pebble next to you, That means he wants to build a nest with you to have babies, No Twigs or leaves down there., make nests with pebbles.
Then it is time to stand up.
I was attacked by a Bull Elephant Seal , I was taking photos of his harem of cows, He didn't like it and chased me, Even with no legs these animals can out run a man, I fell head first down a crevasse and broke my should bones and tore all the Clavicular ligaments. had an operation 30 days later when I got home.
    It was a good adventure,
    and would go again.

Dodging icebergs on the North Atlantic going to Montreal, getting stuck in Ice going up to Montreal, wading through feet of snow in Seven Islands doing draft surveys, seeing the hamburger I dropped on the way back to the ship in St. Johns covered in 3 inches of new ice next trip, Bergen in Mid winter. All those were beautiful experiences but the best part was getting paid to see them all, not having to fork out loads of dosh to see them.
Without doubt the most beautiful and fascinating trip I ever did was when twice yearly we used to go up to Skoghal on Lake Vannern via the Gota canal from Gothenberg, passing through the centre of Trollhatten (home of Saab cars and where we got bombarded by empty Newcastle Brown ale cans thrown from youths on the bank side). Scenery and locks built into the side of mountains, castles that were now turned into jails, truly fascinating.
