It maybe possible you sailed with my dad, David McGee who was Bosun with BP at that time or my sister Carol who served her deck apprenticeship with BP from 1980-1984.

Did anyone in BP sail with Captain John Wallwork up to the time of the Redundances.
He was a close neighbour, lived just opposite me, and friend.
He got killed in Saigon, He had a job with a shipyard and steel works there. His new Office block
set on fire and he was on the top, 5th Floor. The Fire engine Ladder could only get up to the third floor and all those above Pershed.
    Cheers

Hi Billy, I did't sail with your dad, but the name rings a bell, was he Bosun on the Tamar? west Africa Lome Lagos. Their were stacks of 'River' boats on that run at the time, we would lighten up each other at Lome it was a great opportunity to share a few Tennents and catch up.

Looking through my dads Discharge Book shows he served on the Tamar from the 3/4/81 to the 17/7/81
