Many still remember the taking of Singapore and standing nurses ion the beach while they shot them.

Having been to Thailand and seen some of the camps they were kept in I wonder just how any of the prisoners survived.

We get a lot of Japanese tourists here in Melbourne.

In the days before smart phones and selfies they were always asking locals,' will you take my picture for me with that in the back ground'. This would be something of interest.

I like many others always said, of course. Take the photo so you can show all your friends back home. But when they got home, horror of horrors I had made sure their heads were not in the picture.

I'm sure the irony of post#15 would have been noted by most on here. Decapitation was one of the Japs' method of execution during WW11.

The best news to come out of the coming election is that the Japs will not be building our submarines, I believe that the announcement around Anzac Day was brilliant, what with those old boys talking about the way they were treated by the japs, and one of the surviving nurses the Japs massacred telling her story.
I know the first one wont be delivered until around 1927, just building up sufficient steel will take a long time if ever.
