    Default Lengthened and Converted Ships???

    Dear Old Friends:

Saying Hello to you on my first posting.

I am researching the link between lengthened and converted ships and subsequent hull problems.

I would welcome your experience and expertise on this topic.

I note an earlier (very interesting) posting on the 1968 loss of the Niarchos tanker (turned bulk carrier) Saxonglade (renamed World Glade). This is the area of my interest.

    With Thanks,

    Dr. Merv Rowlinson

There have been many instances where ships have been lengthened and modifies.

I know of one cruise ship that had a complete section fitted extending the length of the ship by about 60 foot.

But there area number of other members on site who I am sure will assist you.
    Happy daze John in Oz.
