    Default Photos from David Kemp on the Port Invercargill

    David Kemp was master of the Port Invercargill from March 1968, when the ship was stranded in the Suez Canal. He has kindly sent me an album of images of life on board, including GBLA activities. I've started a short blog series to display his excellent photos, which you can see here:

    I found the blog very interesting. I was on the Port Nicholson, which was the first Port Line ship to go through the Suez Canal after it reopened and we anchored next to the Port Invercargill in the Bitter Lake whilst waiting for the north bound convoy to pass (1975).
