As from around 14.00 today, the bridge linking Neyland, (Milford Haven) and Pembroke Dock ceased to be a toll bridge.
Completed in 1975 after a catastrophic collapse that killed 4 people the bridge then saved a journey of some 35 miles
between the 2 ends of the bridge.
When I was skipper of the tug Edengarth, our tug mooring was a admiralty mooring buoy virtually under the bridge
and for the first couple of years the local yobs used to throw stones and tin cans down onto the deck.
