Not to too fine a point on this, further to my last post, I used a modified version of this steamed pudding when I
was a lighthouse keeper on the Bass rock using 4 cups flour and 2 eggs for 3 of us, steamed in a cotton cloth,
the other ingredients can be adjusted to taste, I also carried with me a little McDougal's Flour quick recipe book
for my shortcrust pastry to make jam tarts, got no complaints, we had to be inventive.
I remember the original steamed duff ingredients from the BP tanker, it lay on a shelf in the galley, but not the quantities.

    cheers John B.

    No true John.
I didn't add rum extract to the concrete!

Now Den, the recipe I saw,
1 part butter which was the code for cement,
2 part sultanas, code for aggregate
4 part flour, sand in other words.

Drink the rum essence and mix the rest with water.
    Happy daze John in Oz.

Life is too short to blend in.

    Jeeze John,
Now you have given it away.
