Forgotten Wrecks of the First World War Project
Hi all, just wondered if members might be interested to visit our Forgotten Wrecks of the First World War website as we come towards the end of a four year project researching, diving and disseminating information about World War One wrecks along the South Coast of England. A good many of these are merchant ships and there are over 1,200 WW1 wrecks from the Isle of Thanet through to the Scilly Isles with a phenomenal amount of lives lost. Its here: http://forgottenwrecks.maritimearchaeologytrust.org/
Following the project a database of ships will be available for the public to search and all the information we have about these ships/crew etc will be on there. If anyone has more information about a ship or crew member that was on one of these ships we would be love to hear from you. We could add it to the database (with credit to yourselves).
Thanks, Jan
