Shaun, just a suggestion, what i would do is to send both departments a letter airing your worries, plus a copy to your local council, if you send it registered post, you would be amazed how quickly arses get in gear. they all hate something in writing that has a comeback if it goes wrong, kt

I have done so, no councils here but sent to mayor and city hall.

It's a 'it'll never happen here' scenario despite multiple apartment fires within a 20 mile radius.

As said the most disappointing thing is the lack of support from the fire department as they must have experienced these fires numerous times.

When I was a paramedic in the UK I attended a lot of life changing fires. One I and my crewmate searched the building until we were driven out by the heat and smoke. We got no credit in the press - Trumpton did - and the guy died despite our efforts.

I have the utmost respect for the guys at the frontline but the managers are crap - this applies to so many organizations.

I never had issues before but of late I'm having flashbacks and nightmares of those that I couldn't help.

    I know it's a movie but...

    From The Guardian

Jake Fischer: What's your real number?
    Ben Randall: 22.
Jake Fischer: 22? That's not bad. It's not 200 but...
Ben Randall: 22 is the number of people I lost, Jake. The only number I kept track of.

One would think that after the Grenvell tower fire of last year in London, and it was seen world wide on news bulletins, the fire chiefs would take more notice.

Did you see the silly female telling passengers to go to their cabins.
