Re: Fiddlers Green. North Shields
I don't know the statistics , but have always regarded it as the most dangerous occupation , we wold be crossing the channel in force 8 and you could watch the fishermen climbing waves , so pleased they are remembered

Re: Fiddlers Green. North Shields
Fidlers Green is a place I do tell
where good Sailors go when they don't go to hell.
Where your glass never empties and tobacco is free
and bottles of Rum grow upon every tree.
You sit telling yarns cos there is no work to do
and the Captain is below making tea for the crew
So tell all my old shipmate
I will be taking a trip, mates
and will see them one day in Fiddlers Green.

Re: Fiddlers Green. North Shields
CHORUS
Wrap me up in me oilskin and jumper
No more on the docks I'll be seen
Just tell me old shipmates
I'm taking a trip, mates
And I'll see you one day in Fiddler's Green.
