The only time that I ever changed of SSE as a supplier we changed to Npower and we had more trouble with the bills in one year that I had in what has been 30 years of SSE and it's predecessor Southern Electric so regardless of saving £1 here or £1 there I stick to what I found was a good customer service system even though now it seems to be somewhere like Perth rather than Portsmouth

Terry, by using direct debit for my power and gas I get a 5% discount.
