PQ17: An Arctic Convoy Disaster
Mid programme, adding TV guide info as to content for info.
Jeremy Clarkson tells the story of the Arctic convoys of the Second World War, revealing the terrible hazards faced by the Merchant and Royal Navy sailors who delivered vital war supplies to the Soviet Union via this treacherous route. Accompanied by first hand testimony from those who served on the convoy, Clarkson retraces the voyage of convoy PQ17, a joint Anglo-American convoy which would become one of the biggest naval disasters of the 20th century.

re: PQ17
My only critisism was when he said young American seamen were wanting to quit on the deserted island that they landed on, every man on every ship was a brave man , compare that to todays news of youths complaining that no chicken at Colonels what ever his name is, kt

I would forget the news and keep this thread as it should be.

re: PQ17
I did not watch the programme, as soon as is saw the presenter’s name, I refuse to watch anything that Jeremy Clarkson is involved with, but I have known the story of this ill fated convoy for many years. Just wish he was not the presenter.
