Default Queen Mary and rescue of Jewish refugees

An interesting bit on the BBC News regarding the role played by the Queen Mary rescuing Jewish families fleeing Hitler.
The person in the BBC clip was telling how they had been held up by Nazis but somehow managed to contact the ship and the Captain delayed sailing until they reached the ship in Cherbourg.
In the clip of her in Long Beach she is looking pretty tired and could do with a good paint job, especially the funnels, volunteers anyone.

Default Re: Queen Mary and rescue of Jewish refugees

Report published in the Merchant Navy Journal October 1955 : A 20 year old youth was caught climbing up one of 'Queen Elizabeth's mooring ropes at night in Southampton, and a 16 year old girl admitted getting on board by the same means :

Methinks that Kong fella has got some explaining to do when he gets back from Fleetwood! bit of a bonus that, an athletic girlfriend!
