    Default Collier Pompey Power

    Hi.

Attached a photo of the former Pompey Power being under towage. This vessel is owned by an association who tries to save her and make a museum vessel. The present name is Hamen and has been layed up in Sweden for about 16 years. The plan is to bring the vessel to a shipyard in Danmark to see what the condition of the hull is.
Are there any other colliers alive in the UK?

    Best regards,

    Mathieu.

When I se preservation schemes I wince , because I think that the good hearten sincere people who want to so earnestly save a ship have no idea of the cost , so many of these schemes fail becaus e of teh cost of preserving and maintaining a museum ship , Maybe the government could stop financing despots and terrorists , and pay to save old ships , it would be a better use of the money

"Hamen" ex "Pompey Power" is to day at the old Hurum factory in the Oslofjord. The captains mess room and his cabin, office and bath room are nearly finish. But much more work to do with the ship.MS Hamen 2013 11.27 Tofte.jpg

Really cannot thank you enough for both originally informing us and the update, interested: hope you post more. Thanks

All the best of luck to those that do, many just say it will never happen, doing nothing themselves. These projects involve many people, time, hard work and commitment.

Thanks to those that bother, lest nothing would get done.

    Every respect K.
