    Default Vindi memories

My time in the Vindi goes back to 1953. Coronation year. Who remembers night watch when one would stay on watch while the other one went down to the docks & purloined peanuts from the barges.

Hello Des and all members. I understood there was a vindy assosiation office in Hobart. I started looking for a contact 2 years ago when i developed a rare blood type cancer resulting in considerable hospitalisation. I have not followed that up since. Perhaps i should. Old memories are coming back and i feel i shoild follow up whilst time permits.

    Night watch?
The only night watch I recall was watching to make sure some officer with a spiteful attitude did not get us out of bed in the middle of the night.
Did happen twice while I was there, do not remember his name but at about 0200 hours he put the lights on and had us all stand to attention at the foot of our bunks.
There were some good officers there, but there were also some ratbags.
    Happy daze John in Oz.
