    Hi my Wonderful Seafaring friends,

It has been quite a long time (weeks) since I posted on here, I haven't gone away or got lost, it's just that we have had so much going on of late that time just seemed to pass us by.
On a more positive note, I tried the Salvation Army route as suggested but I didn't have the right information for them, i.e, a name for them to be able to progress forward in my plight, so that was knocked on the head. I have since then uploaded some info onto GEDMatch, a DNA site that I had hoped would throw out a name or person but sadly it didn't. I have also recently done a DNA Test with 23andMe and having just got the results back, they too were very disappointing.
I don't suppose in my recent absence that anybody else has popped-up and said, "Hi Bev, I'm your Dad", have they?.
Sadly, the search still goes on but I/we shall endeavour to stay in contact with you all. You have all been wonderful and it would be a shame if we lost contact with you now.
So to everybody that has taken the time and trouble to befriend us complete strangers, both Kevin and I look forward to chatting with you soon.

Warmest regards and thanks to all,

Bev and Kev McNamara, ps, we don't have a dog called Trev.....................

We can get tied up with others and other research, your updates are vital to remind us.

I do tend to go back to previous and try again.

    Fingers crossed as ever.

    Morning Shipmates,

I just wanted to let you all know how far along I am with my search.

With much research, I have found a male 2nd Cousin via Ancestry DNA and who is the closest link that I have to my Father. I was unable to reach this man through the Ancestry site so sourced his address through "White Pages", wrote a letter and posted this on Friday just gone.

I am, obviously, hopeful that something positive will come out of this but I still have to be open-minded that this search could lead nowhere.

So, I am still here, I'm still searching and ever grateful of all the help and advice that I have been given by you all.

Let's hope that I can give you all some good news by the end of the month.

So, fingers crossed and "Here's Hoping"...........

I hope you all have a great and sunny week,

    Warmest regards

    Bev McNamara

    Hi Beverly.
I have been following the threads and one thing I thought of is that the Lloyd's list that may or may not have been in that particular library may still be there as most Libraries when they started getting short of space for all their records put them on the, I think it was called a Fitch film thing, you wind a handle to look for a specific article or picture. So when next you are down that way check it out.
    Cheers Des

    Hi Keith,

    Thanks for your wishes.

We have some news.........Da Da Daaaaaaaaaaaaaaah!!!!

Having spoken to Viv this morning, Viv said that she remembered something and that the ship was called, "the England"! Looking at ship names on the internet, we could only find 1 that had the name England in it and that was "The Empress of England". This seems to tally-up with the dates/year that the ship was sailing.

Would that be right that there isn't another name of a ship called the "England"?

So if, as we are hopeful of, that this is right, do any of the site members have any memories of this ship?

It's not much to go on but we are stepping in the right direction.

    Warmest regards

    Speak soon

    Hi Des,

Thanks for your info, it is very interesting and something worth considering.

Doc Vernon is in Blue Mountains, NSW. Do you ever meet up and swap stories of old over a jar or two of rum?

    Have a great day

    Speak soon
