Should the Jury be benevolent because he stepped out of the shadows in the last moments of his life to dispute those who claim the holocaust never happened or should his age be irrelevant

#1... There are countries today who have every intention of continuing the Final Solution as Hitler started, and have declared publicly their intentions of doing so. World Jewry returned to their ancient Homeland after the war and have had to fight to keep their lands by force of arms in most cases. Whatever other people put up about the morality of claiming lands that supposedly did not belong to them, go back far enough and was were they started their existence from the 12 tribes. By their own known History of what happened to their parents and grandparent during the Final Solution they will not in any manner of form give up what they have fought and died for. They have paid a price that no other Nation has in the past few centuries. They know if they go soft they are dead meat and probably live with that day by day. Even the UK tried to keep them out of Palestine after the war when literally tens of thousands were streaming to the area, and have since made it a safe place in the world for universal Jewry. They have contained their beliefs to one area, its a pity other countries in the area didn't do the same as regards Oscarwhatsisname if he had been a member of a 12 man firing squad would he still be guilty, if the answer is yes then there are hundreds daily guilty of such a crime, and in that instant anyone who believes in capital punishment is a criminal, that makes me a criminal also for having that belief. Just where does the blame lie? Like so many others from a number of countries was just following orders, barbaric as they may have been he had been trained to follow them without question. How man other soldiers at the cap did the same, have the all been brought to justice?

We know those who organised it all were dealt with but should the ordinary soldier following order be dealt with in the same manner?

I am sure there were soldiers from the allies who committed war crimes but were never caught.

I am not defending what occurred just making comment.

I am sure that any side at times, the ordinary boots on the ground will receive the order take no prisoners. Whether we like it or not this is what happens. What about those soldiers who sent off the V1s and V2s on an unsuspecting public and had no definite targets. Whether one thinks that wars are fought on the Marquis of Queensbury Rules or not, there is no fairness in war. The huge numbers of civilian casualties are never entered on the glossy boards of regimental bars if they were they would probably exceed those losses the regiment received. Tomorrow is not for glorying war but to honour those lost, the civilian losses should also be thought of at the same time. As regards Hitlers Final Solution this was a war against Humanity in general, he used the Jews for good propaganda purposes as had to have something for the Germanic peoples to vent their anger against. There were all sorts of mistakes made during the first world war and the in between period and during hostilities during the last WW. Hitler went to war with the backing of the largest percentage of the German People who had been brought to their knees by the Treaty of Versailles, again drawn up by politicians, Germany wasn't giving very fair treatment as regards any prosperity for their future. Germany also had any averse actions they took as used by the allies for their own propaganda, when they turned on Russia and went through what they did it was razed to the ground, and the Russians have no love of Germany. The young spunk trumpets we have as politicians nowadays believe all their own propaganda that was put out by both sides. They should look very closely at the mistakes that were made on both sides, forget their own propaganda and stand up and be counted and to act like human beings and not spoiled brats in most cases. Listen to people who actually fought in the wars that their predessors started, and if necessary go and get a brain transplant. Believe some of them spent their working life at some University reading Political Science, shows by their actions that the books that they were reading must show different than what the common herd lived through. Answer to myself on my own observations and old reports... The Great War must have been the last war fought mainly soldier to soldier in the form of Trench warfare all the casualitys were more or less men of arms. Galliopoli like the western Front was fought on the same principles and fighting from a very disadvantaged position, not very well managed by the top brass, the same as the Western Front which was just a slaughter ground at times. The last war WW2 was fought on different lines but sill with the same thinking apart from the permanent trenches. Spies were still shot or hung, a soldier found out of uniform behind enemy lines was considered a spy and shot out of hand by the Germans we are told, German spies were also executed in the UK the ones that were uncovered. Warfare now would be hard to find the enemy in any sort of uniform distinguishing himself as a combatant apart from a black face mask. Now if caught would probably get a gaol sentence and live to fight another day. As things appear to be getting steadily worse terrorist wise, which in effect is another world war we are fighting, it is going to take more than the pussyfooting around by some of the weak willed pollies who don't know whether they are coming or going and don't want to hurt peoples feelings. When the Military forces in some third world country take over the government, all politicians shout foul, myself think there is a reason for everything in life and wait to see the reasons why they did take over, and is usually incompetence on the government of the time, only they spell incompetence differently and come up with different excuses. As after every war there are what we call war criminals, and an example of such, take Goering, a first world war air ace and much admired by both sides, come the second world war is considered a monster and sentenced to death, but cheated by committing suicide, more than likely by outside help. How can anyone change in a short time from a benevolent bloke to a savage and evil person. JS

WW2 is the first war where the death of civilians was accounted for. No doubt there have been in other wars but not accounted for but numbers would have been insignificant compare to WW2 Now terrorist warfare is all about attacking civilians, but the enemy now is a coward that hides his face and comes in the night using persons little older than children as the soldier.

#7... Des to the winner goes the spoils. Unfortuanetly the present day politician believes in given all away and making his own country impoverished. To the tens of thousands who gave their lives thinking it was a just war to end all, don't think would be very impressed by the way their country went. JS
