Default What did YOU buy Ashore?.....

The occasional picture caption of mine is probably not 'clean enough' for the usual Smoko Lads thread,so I'll bring them down to The Pig to avoid any offence......

Buying things ashore could be fraught with dangers in some ports. But worse still was the momentos some of the very fine ladies would give you. Some where indeed a marvel, to medical scinece that is!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Default Odd things indeed!

I recall buying quite a few odd things ashore, and some of them nearly got me in deep water!
All sorts like contraband Switchblades,Unclean Photos for resale in Cape Town (that was a roaring trade there at that time),and even a Gun at one stage! Gosh what was i thinking!
But that was the dare of Youth, and dare i certainly did in those carefree days! But so did many others as well.

Also as John talks about the Ladies (of the Night) i called them, surely were ones to watch out for!
Many a poor unsuspecting Lad would go back to the Ship with an unknown present ,and later find out what!?
Ask me i was one of them ,thankfully the Docs then were at hand to solve the mystery ! haha!

That was life ! And oh to have it all over again!
    Cheers!

Usually a load of cr-p, like the bloody tape recorder in Aden which cost me a fortune and packed up 25 minutes after we had dropped the pilot.

My Apologies guys for this post about crap we bought-I wasn't really interested-I was just using it as a cover to post my naughty cartoon caption(post # 1) !
I thought it might get censored if not posted elsewhere other than here in the Pig & Whistle.
Perhaps I shouldn't have bothered anyway.I only got oneLike (good old Alf-great sense of humour !)

And my apologies if the caption offended any of you seamen's delicate tastes.....

    Merry Christmas Everybody !
