Can Anyone Help
I registered on the site as I am trying to find information about my grandfather, Francis (aka Frank) Douglas, who I believe served on Cunard's Queen Mary, many years ago. I know his date of Birth (12/02/1912) and his date of death (15/08/1954). On his death certificate it says his occupation was merchant seaman. It is my 50th birthday this year and my daughters 18th also, and we are planning a trip to New York, primarily to visit his final resting place in St.John's cemetary NY. We also know his last known address as 45-15, 40th Street, Long Island City, New York. Any help or pointers as to where we can find information about his service in the merchant navy would be appreciated. Thank you, Mark Douglas.
