The Jungle has now been converted into flats, The REX hotel in Whitley Bay is bankrupt and all boarded up.

Colin that's because Brian took his custom elsewhere. Is Uncle Toms Cabin still open. Don't suppose you knew my cousin Albert Kempster used to live in one of the flats at the top of Howard Street, was second Engineer with Palm line for years, used his middle name at sea Tommy Kempster. Was drowned off sheerness about 1980 coming back to the ship. Cheers JS

John, Afraid I don't know your cousin, Uncle Toms Cabin is long gone, replaced by shops. Charley Browns is still going strong.

Just wondering if any of our suggestions to the request have been taken up or in fact have been seen ....................

Give the lad time, it's only 48 hours and he may be searching for a job, however a thankyou wouldn't go amiss
