John Hastie
"John Hastie (AB) discharge book No: R730171 crossed the bar on the Monday 22nd of January 2018 in a care home from cancer of the spine.
He will be greatly missed by both his brothers Gordon and Michael.
Michael was also in the merchant navy from 1962-90 discharge book R774186.
For years before John’s retirement he sailed as Bosun/AB with James Fishers & Sons of Barrow-in-Furness on the nuclear waste vessels, the last
vessel being the M.V. Pacific Pintail from 13th May to 5th August 2005.
R.I.P brother, we love you".
Michael Hastie.

Re: John Hastie
A post by Doc recently included the words that I add below.
They were poignant and may be suitable now and in the future.
Keith.
The rough seas of life
He will sail no more
He has anchored safe
On the eternal shore.

Thank you for your kind words. I'm was told by the nurse that he did pass peacefully. I just saw John a couple of hours before he died when the care home phoned me to tell me of his passing. He was a GREAT brother. Michael Hastie
