    Hi Roy.
Welcome. Was the AthelChief you were on the same as the wartime one? My brother was on her in the Med during the invasion period.
    Cheers Des

Hi Des i was on this tanker in the 60s have not got the dates to hand however she certainly was a rough old bucket we were up the gulf to mena alahamadi it was that hot you could fry an egg on the deck we rigged awnings all around the upper deck and worked 4am till 10am and just crashed out under the awning the crews accomadation was too hot to enter i and most of the others aboard could hardly breath. Definately the hottest i have ever experienced. A rough old ship i was glad to sign off. Maybe it was the one from the war it was certainly OLD and a real rust bucket.

I see like so many others that you too were with the UCL for a time ,seems to have been a very popular Line in the days ,i liked them and was very happy serving on their Ships , i notice ny your Discharge Number though that you were later than me ,i was in the 1958 Era
