Welcome to the Site Mike. Did a couple of trips on the MV Koolinda (Fremantle and all ports to Darwin and return) summer of 1948/49. In those days the Esplanade Hotel was sitting up on it's own up the hill at Port Hedland and the abattoirs were operating in Wyndham. Lots of crocodiles hanging around.
    Cheers,
    Richard
