    Default Old shipmate

Just had contact from Gary Worton.
Sailed together on the Pacific Reliance.
    This bit for Daze John.
He fondly remembers my Tab nabs.
Well he didn't actually say the word 'fondly' but I am sure he would have done with a little prompting.
So I didn't kill all of the ones I sailed with John.

He actually did say he remembered my Tabnabs. Not sure for good or bad though.
    I'll take the good.

Sailed on the Reliance as senior cadet in 1954 and then again joined in New Westminster in November 56 to go home for 2nd mates. Captain P F Owens was master don't remember Chief Steward but she was always a very good feeder.

Larry Larsen was the bosun and his arm was broken leaving Surrey Docks and I took over as bosun.

Clews was on of the great seaman's bar.
At least in my day it was.
Nearly got myself killed in there once, as the 'ladies' husban's ship came in early.
