Re: NZ in 1952
Have you no more information Theron? That is a hard one, Blue Star had a big fleet of ships running into NZ in those days, I sailed with a few Tonys in Blue Star.in those days.

Re: NZ in 1952
Hi there Brian
Many Thanks for your reply, I am sorry but all the detail I have is Tony docked in New Plymouth on a Blue Star Line ship, he would have been 17 to 19 years old at the time and he was English.
Really hope you can offer any further information, would be greatly appreciated

Re: NZ in 1952
Hi Theron.
I think the best bet is to go to the Auckland Library and look up news papers for that year, date month etc, all newspapers of the time had arrival and departure dates of all ships arriving and departing, they may be on Micro Fitch, and who knows computer by now. The Auckland Herald had a daily column dedicated to shipping. Most British ships in NZ at that time took cargo down, then loaded meat or wool for the UK. Most ships would call in Auckland or Wellington before calling at the smaller ports like New Plymouth.. I'm sure you will get the information needed that way.
Cheers Des
