    Only thing I remember about the bitter Lakes was that we used to anchor there sometimes while the convoy going the other way passed. They always reckoned you couldn't drown in them because of the salt. I beg to differ I jumped in and if hadn't made every effort would still be sinking as jumped from bridge height. Got back on board and put a life jacket on and just floated around for the next hour. Never tried that theory again. JWS

    Must have been very naive and trusting when young Ivan. Soon learned different. Kept that one under my hat to try on any other first tripper. The Occassion never arose alas. Is very hard to walk on water no matter what anyone says. Cheers JWS
