    Default Grandfather in WW2

My Grandfather John Taggart of South Shields has an occupation of ships Stoker ,Weekly Articles described in the 1939 register. I have searched but cannot find any discharge number for him. I’m assuming he would have needed something? Any opinions

There were six of the same name born in the same area for theyear.

Pos narrowing down to but, not confirmed:

    birth:
    1878
    Tyrone

    Thanks Keith,
As I have indicated I have found all the info on my fathers MN career (almost). His Brother John Patrick I know was in Eagle Oil with my dad but I cannot find any more. Their father John I cannot find anything other than the 1939 register description. His death certificate also describes him as a seagoing fireman.
