    Default Grandfather

I am searching for any information about my Grandfather Everardo Victor Scherptong. I know he served as Bosun on the CULEBRA = Royal Mail London Lines in 1923 • London, England.I have been unable to find other ships he may have served on. Any info would be greatly appreciated

Seems quite a large family with roots in Holland.

There would be a London connection, see the marriage above.

Hopefully, Alfred will put us on the right track soon.

    Hi Mr Vernon,
Thank you for your response. The information I have is:-

C.R.1No of DIS A issued 936523 Everardo Visitor Scherptong Born 1893 Dutch West Indies Bosun on SS Culebra - Died 1928.

I believe he lost his papers when his house was bombed during the war. (He live in Canning Town, London)
You are on the right track this is my Grandfather he married Bridget Casey in 1922. His sons was Victor Dennis born 15/04/1923, Died Dec 1992 and Dennis Scherptong Born 1927 Died 1994 both served in Merchant Navy.

    Hope this helps.

    Kind Regards

    Alfred John Tovey
