There is a photograph on page 31 of the Daily Express of the Queen Mary 2 anchored off Bali with the Captain standing on the bulbous bow. I have no idea how to put it on here but perhaps Tony could when hes got the time. It really warrants look.

I wonder why he was standing on the bulbous bow.???
There is not a lot on the bulb to see or do.

He was asked to by the photographer Brian, as the fotoman wanted to depict that something so large could be controlled by something so small and it gave him the best comparison. You missed a photo opportunity there Brian you could have been photographed on the BB of your VLCC

It was a bigger bulbous bow than the QM2.
Sailed on QM2 on her maiden Voyage in 2004 and again from Fort Lauderdale all the way down the East coast of south America round the Horn and all the way up the west coast to L.A. Six weeks. she is an excellent ship.
Cheers
Brian.

It is now called a `Work Vest`
they all wear them now, even the Sailors on deck and on the quaysides. see photo
I got a bollicking off the Safety man for being on the jetty without my `Work Vest`
I could not pay my bar bill so I had to turn to to work it off
