CALYPSO

Young gods paced their mythic Pantheon.

Métis laxed her fingers for the briefest moment

And they were gone.

Singing with the golden urges of youth

Along the dark passages of Kingston’s night.

Wire thin time

Closing their ears to all but the Sirens,

The nymphs.

Calypso

Drifting down

Through the starry

Millennium.

Moistened lips beckon;

Vesta’s dark felloe magic

Offering

Music to condense the seven years

Into the dust of one night..

Bedimmed ambrosial columns

Subdue in ancient rhythms.

Wry smiles

Light up the Dawn.

Métis shakes her head;

Discomfited.
